Nine hectares of open common land with naturalised grass areas, scattered trees and shrubs between Green Street Green Village and Crescent Way Open Space, alongside the A232 Sevenoaks Road that links the A21 to Orpington town centre. Green Street Green Common is often shown as 'The Green' on maps. A half-mile 'desire path' around the perimeter of The Green is used by walkers, joggers, runners and local residents with dogs. A Woodland Walk has been created through the wooded area, and there are benches and picnic benches around The Green. The Friends of Green Street Green organise regular litter picking and gardening sessions as part of the group's community action for a greener, cleaner, healthier and safer Green Street Green. A number of bus routes pass close to The Green, including the 358, R1, R5, R8, R10, R11 - https://content.tfl.gov.uk/bus-route-maps/orpington-hospital-a4-010417.pdf
